In form time as part of Votes for Schools; which provides a weekly resource that prompts discussion on a challenging current issue; students debated a current issue and voted; ensuring that their voices are heard and have an impact.

This week students are debating “Should questions be easy to answer?”. This topic will be discussed by schools taking part in Votes for Schools across the UK and will expose students to both sides of the issue in a fair and balanced manner. This process enables students to come to an informed decision, which they must justify in discussion with their peers and teacher.

Last Week’s Vote

Last week’s topic was “Is the internet driving us apart?” and our academy voted: 79% No, 21% Yes.

Students felt that we would have been lost without it in COVID lockdowns as it helped with mental health loneliness.
