In form time today as part of Votes for Schools, which provides a weekly resource that prompts discussion on a challenging current issue, students debated a current issue and voted; ensuring that their voices are heard and have an impact.

This week students are debating “Should students use smartphones in school?”. This topic will be discussed by schools taking part in Votes for Schools across the UK and will expose students to both sides of the issue in a fair and balanced manner. This process enables students to come to an informed decision, which they must justify in discussion with their peers and teacher.

Last weeks topic was “Was COP26 successful?” and our academy voted: 67% No, 33% Yes.
