This is Culture

Through tutor time all students have access to sessions called; “This is Culture”. In these sessions students have access to knowledge which takes them beyond the ‘taught curriculum’. The sessions aim to broaden the cultural capital, with knowledge on artists, musicians and famous architecture. Cultural capital is important and has been proven to help students to progress further in their careers, are happier and understand things they may not have before.

Last week:

Students focused on the artist Georgia O Keefe. Learning how she was a pioneer, in painting nature. She was an American Artist.

This Week:

Students will be learning about the work of Andy Warhol, another famous artist. Some of his most famous pieces include ‘Marilyn Monroe’ and ‘Campbell’s Soup’.
