Today we had a fantastic careers step up day look at careers education

Diversity in Careers

As part of our work on Diversity all KS3 students have taken part in a career’s session on Diversity and inclusion in Employment. As part of this students worked in teams to come up with a mobile advert campaign to help fight discrimination in the workplace.

Year 7

As part of our careers ‘Step Up Day’ students in Year 7 have completed an enterprise challenge to find an alternative use for gas cylinders. They have shown amazing creativity. Students have also explored the World of work by using the Panjango cards to explore job roles and careers of the future.

Year 8

As part of our careers ‘Step Up Day’ students in Year 8 have taken part in a session on raising awareness of financial fraud. Students had to play detective to work out how someone had become the victim of financial fraud and where the person had gone wrong. Students also took part in the BP Challenge and had to come up with creative ideas for eco-friendly transport.

Year 9

For Careers Step Up Day students in Year 10 have started to write their CV’s and explore options post 16. Students also took part in a workshop run by HeppSY to explore reasons why people might choose to go onto Higher Education and to challenge some of the stereotypes and perceptions people have about who goes onto Higher Education.
