Community Engagement

At Don Valley Academy we are honoured to serve our local community and are passionate about ensuring that every child is able to achieve and prosper.

Local Community Engagement

A key element of this is our engagement with the community and the families of our students. We do this by

Community Events

Over the course of the academic year, we host a variety of events where parents/carers can come into the academy and engage with our staff. These include:

  • Community Open Evenings
  • Parents Evenings
  • Family Revision Evenings
  • Family Quizzes

Community Open Evenings

Parents Evenings

Over the course of the academic year, we host a parents evening for each year group where parents/carers can come and speak to teachers about how well their child is performing in all their subjects. These parents evenings are perfect opportunities to find out about how your child is performing academically.

Family Revision Evenings

In order to support our Year 11 cohort with their GCSE’s we hosted a revision drop in evening where pupils were invited in at any time from 4:30 – 6:30 to speak to staff, obtain useful revision material from all subjects, speak to post-16 providers and learn how to revise effectively.

Family Quizzes

These take place every half term. We encourage families and our local community to attended the themed events
