Above & Beyond

Teachers distributing and students receiving an Above & Beyond is a key part of praise here at Don Valley Academy. Teachers actively seek opportunities to reward students for outstanding work, exemplary effort, and unwavering perseverance in their lessons. When a student receives this sticker, it becomes a proud entry in their planner, ensuring that their accomplishments are documented and acknowledged.

These stickers serve as catalysts for positive conversations, both within the school environment and at home. We encourage parents and guardians to take note of these achievements, fostering a supportive atmosphere that recognises and celebrates the hard work of our students.

To further motivate and honour our students, we have established a weekly recognition system. The students who accumulate the highest number of “Above & Beyond” stickers are not only awarded a special prize but are also prominently featured on the year group screens in our dining hall. This ensures that their accomplishments are celebrated and shared with the entire school community.
